  • This is a traditional chain, known as loop in loop; it's been made for millennia and depending on the combination of wire size, and the initial circle (jump ring) created, different finishes and profiles can be achieved.

In this instance I have created an elegant, elongated teardrop profile.

It's a simple, but very labour intensive, meditative process - coiling the wire before sawing the coil to make individual, evenly sized jumprings, then soldering them closed. Forming them into the little shapes needed for assembly also has a further 4 stages, and once they are assembled they have to be pulled through a draw plate to even them up. Between each stage I need to anneal the silver with my blowtorch, to keep it soft enough for me to bend. I usually extend the process over a couple of days - in part because I don't want too many blisters!!

This exact bracelet just sold; it and future ones will have a fully hallmarked S clasp and every component is handmade by me.
The S clasp will fit through any of the links, meaning it is fully adjustable. The width of the links is 4mm approximately.

Future chains will be made to order - it may take up to 2 weeks for me to do so.

As with all my fully hand crafted pieces, I use certified recycled sterling silver, and although future chains will be made to the same method, there will be slight variances.

When placing your order, please let me know the wrist size you would like me to make it fit. Either tell me the size if you know it, or opt for small, medium, large - Small tends to be about 6-6.5 inches (15-16.5cm), medium 6.5-7.5 inches (16.5-19cm), large 7.5-8.5 inches (19-21.5cm).

Please see the final photographs for an image of my hallmarks. The size and style of the hallmark on your piece will depend on the item you purchase as the Assay Office are excellent at adjusting the size of the mark to fit the size of the piece.

***Usually made to order, but I have one in stock***

    NOTES:
All my silver is now bought as certified recycled eco-silver, made from 100% scrap / recycled silver which has been fully refined to ensure it is of the same quality as traditional sterling, but of course without the environmental impact of mining it.

Although I have a couple in stock, future chains will be made to order - it may take up to 2 weeks for me to do so, but I would usually expect to complete your order within a week.

If the size you want is shown as sold out, please send me a message. Also, if you'd like this as a necklace, do contact me as I can make these to any length.

As with all my fully hand crafted pieces, I use certified recycled sterling silver, and although future chains will be made to the same method, there will be slight variances to the chain and also to the hallmark - examples of hallmarks placed on my work by the London Assay Office in the final photos.

    • Sterling Silver will eventually oxidise or tarnish. It's a natural process that can be slowed down by regular wear and by keeping unworn items away from the atmosphere. If you leave your jewellery out on display, this oxidisation will be faster.  You can polish up your items, with a soft cloth, some silver polish, or a buffing cloth such as Town Talk, which is readily available from any high street jewellers in the UK

Fine silver is 99.9% silver, and because of this the tarnish rate is much, much slower. Again, a buff should do the job for polishing it back up. If I have patinated your silver already, be gentle when buffing!

Each piece should stand up to regular wear, but , as with all jewellery, please remove it before washing, using chemicals or applying perfume etc

Apply body lotion and perfume a few minutes before putting on your jewellery to help slow down tarnish

The sterling silver used in these items was sold to me by my bullion dealer ass certified recycled.

he gemstones I use have been sold to me by reputable dealers as untreated (unless stated specifically in the listing). They are a natural, organic creation from the earth and each one will be slightly different. You can see examples of this on my Facebook page.
I select the stones that I think go together best for each project, hence my comments that each item is individual.
